It’s hard to believe 2016 is already almost over! So much has happened this year in the world as a whole including the crazy presidential election, the Olympics, Great Britain leaving the European Union, and obviously so so much more. This year has also been super eventful in my life specifically. Today I’m sharing some a New Year’s Eve party inspiration as well as a little summary of my year. Enjoy!
NYE Outfit Inspiration
This outfit is certainly not the sparkliest one you’ll see tonight, but I think it’s still a great option. The light turtleneck top provides some practical warmth that a lot of strappy sequined pieces don’t have while the maroon button down skirt adds some fun trend to the ensemble. I also think these over the knee boots are perfect to dress up any holiday look! I wore my new Kendra Scott earrings and a tortoise link necklace to finish the outfit.
My Year in Review
For me, much of 2016 felt like I was living a dream. I got to travel to so many cool places including Chicago, Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatán, Austin, Savannah, San Antonio, and more. I realized that I’m happiest in a crowd of people who also know all the words to the songs by the artist standing on stage and began going to more concerts and music festivals (see my Ellie Goulding concert post here and my Music Midtown post here). I also became the proud owner of my first camera (I have a Canon EOS Rebel T6, in case you were wondering) and was invited to join 249 other high school students interested in photography and journalism at George Mason University next summer for the Washington Journalism and Media Conference. I began blogging frequently again in August and it has made me so happy, I can’t believe I used to be stressed out by writing posts a year ago. I was accepted as a high school ambassador for Jadelynn Brooke when I applied in July and after a fun semester was invited to continue to rep throughout the spring semester of 2017 (that means you can still use my code “FLHS” for 15% off)! Gosh, 2016 is going to be a hard year to follow, but I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for me and the rest of the world.
Thanks for reading! I hope your New Year’s Eve is safe and filled with confetti, bubbly drinks, and all things festive.
