I think there are certain fashion staples everyone should have in their closet each season, which is why today I’m posting my third seasonal fashion essentials post! I made one for fall (read it here) and winter (read it here), so I thought I would keep this little “series” per say going until I finish with a summer fashion essentials post. Today I’ve chosen ten clothing, shoes, and jewelry pieces that I wear constantly during the spring and linked a few of my favorites along with some that I’ve had my eyes on. Each image contains the respective product link, so you can shop any piece you like by clicking on it! Enjoy!
1. White Jeans
Every girl needs a pair of white jeans to wear in the spring. They look great with black or navy tops, bright colored tops, printed tops, even white tops. They help you dress up a basic tee and can match the formality of a nice top like a Lilly Pulitzer Elsa. My favorite pair of white jeans is this one from Old Navy, but if you’re looking for a more upscale pair, these J.Crew high rise jeans, you can try these Lilly Pulitzer cropped jeans, or these cropped flair jeans from Kate Spade.
2. Simple and Versatile Bracelets
Spring outfits can be super cute, but can always use a little sprucing up with the help of some pretty bracelets. I love the handmade beaded roll on bracelets from Sashka Co. (the set I have is shown and linked below). BaubleBar also has some really nice, delicate options including this tortoise cuff. I have a good amount of Bourbon and Boweties bangles and I love stacking them, especially the pearl “Coco” bangle and the clear crystal “Ida” bangle.
3. Lilly Dresses
Nice dresses are a huge staple in the spring because there are so many events such as weddings, grad parties, Easter, and church services in general. A lot of my favorite dresses for the spring are from Lilly Pulitzer and I think every girl should have one! My favorites from Lilly this season include the Mila shift dress in “Multi Sparkling Sands,” the Tana shift dress in “Multi Never Been Betta,” and the white Rika fit & flare dress.
4. Wedges
Wedged sandals are definitely my favorite dress shoe for the spring. Wedges can easily dress up a basic top with white jeans or a tee shirt dress but also match the formality of a nice dress for a springtime event. Jack Rogers, Steve Madden, Michael Kors, and Kork-Ease carry some of the cutest summer wedges if you ask me. I adore espadrilles, lace ups, and simple two strap styles. Shop my favorites below!
5. Statement Earrings
A fun pair of dangly earrings can add a fun pop to any simple spring outfit. You really can’t go wrong with any from Kendra Scott or Starfish Project (plus purchasing from Starfish Project supports exploited women, double win!). I have and love the Kendra Scott Danielle earrings in white pearl (which come in a plethora of other stone colors) as well as this pair with pretty blue stones and gold tassels from Starfish Project. BaubleBar also has a ton of fun earring options, including this pair of gold hoops with hot pink pom poms which I think is so fun!
6. Stylish Sneakers
In my opinion, one of the best shoes for the transition between winter boots and summer flip flops is a chic pair of tennis shoes. Styling pretty tennis shoes and sneakers with nice outfits has become super trendy over the past couple of years. I have this pair of white and gold New Balance for J.Crew 620 sneakers and I wear them constantly. I also love these cream and light pink New Balance 620 70s sneakers. I’ve been seeing high top Vans styled in a ton of fun ways lately and although they’re a little out of my comfort zone, I think these light pink canvas high tops are so cute.
7. Light Cardigans
For spring days that have a bit of a wind chill, light and versatile cardigans are oh so necessary. I typically buy mine at my local Marshalls, but my favorites online are from Gap, J.Crew, and Lilly Pulitzer (although Lilly’s are definitely far more expensive than what I’m willing to spend on a cardigan, how cute is this hot pink one with fringe trimming?).
8. Tee Shirt Dresses
Tee shirt dresses make the easiest spring outfits. Dress them up with a pair of wedges and a long necklace, or dress them down with a cute pair of sneakers and a simple necklace. Gap, Target, and Forever 21 all carry cute tee shirt dress options.
9. Colored Pants
I know I already mentioned white jeans, but spring is seriously the best time of year to sport your cool, colorful pants. I have a pair of red jeans (see them in a post here) and I love styling them this time of year, they add a fun pop of color to any otherwise basic outfit! Mine are from Gap, but tons of other stores including Old Navy, J.Crew, and Target sell fun colored pants.
10. Basic Tees
Simple solid colored tees combined with white jeans and fun sandals make an easy and cute spring outfit. I wear a lot of basic tees from Old Navy, but I adore all the fun colors that J.Crew carries and this tee from LOFT looks so soft. I love the lace up detailing on the front of this navy J.Crew Factory tee as well!
