Blue & Billowy

There’s something about a piece from a boutique that just makes it special, especially if that boutique is out of town.  The look I’m sharing today features one of my all time favorite tops – one I purchased from a boutique in my favorite beach town in Texas last year.  The great thing about boutiques is that it’s hard to find any one piece anywhere else, making it unique (and hard to link on the blog – sorry to tell y’all the top I’m linking today is not so similar to the one I’m wearing).  Finding creative ways to style unique pieces is strangely one of my favorite things to do, but today’s ensemble is a little more simple.  Enjoy!

The cut of this top is so unique – I guess it’s technically a poncho, but the soft fabric is super flowy and yet somehow a little flattering at the same time.  Since the top is almost a denim blue color itself, I like to pair it with other dyes, like these grey jeans.  The shirt’s free spirited aura made for a perfect opportunity to wear my key necklace and some other fun jewelry like my star earrings.  I haven’t had the heart to part with my friendship bracelets from the summer, but I’ve kept on my MantraBand, cross bracelet, and simple rings as usual.  As far as shoes go, I opted for my gold Jack Rogers sandals to give the look a polished finish.
