All White with A Pop of Color Collab

Over the past couple years, I have seen a ton of bloggers try their hand at an all white outfit composed of white jeans and a white top.  I’ve always wanted to try this for myself, but never really thought I had pieces that were the same color of white until now!  Today I’m collaborating with one of my favorite bloggers, McKenzie of Styled by McKenz (her blog is linked here) to share our takes on an all white look with a pop of color!  Be sure to check out her all white ensemble here.

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ve probably noticed I have a thing for white embroidered tops.  My stepmother recently passed down this adorable white top with floral embroidery on the bottom and I love it.  In this look I matched it with a pair of plain white skinny jeans and gold Jack Rogers sandals.  I accessorized with my new favorite choker from DDD Beads, a Kendra Scott Elisa necklace, a Giving Key bangle, a simple silver cross bracelet, some white and gold Sashka Co. bracelets, and the most adorable purple stacked tassel earrings from E. Taylor Designs to add a pop of color!  Be sure to check out DDD Beads (linked here), E. Taylor Designs (linked here), and Sashka Co. (linked here) for more fun jewelry.  Also, when you shop at DDD Beads here, you can use my code faith15 for 15% off your purchase!  Enjoy!

National Wear Your Lilly Day Collab

As some of you may already know, today is “National Wear Your Lilly Day.”  The brand Lilly Pulitzer made put this “holiday” in place years ago in accordance with the first day of summer, the brand’s favorite season of the year.  Today I’m sharing one of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer pieces in collaboration with Madi Legar of Madison Avenue Prep (linked here), Brooke of Live the Prep Life (linked here), and Katie Follis of (linked here).  Be sure to check out their blogs and collaborative posts today!

I’m wearing one of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer shifts from last year in the print “So A Peeling.”  I adore this dress because of the bright colors and flamingos in the print and the gorgeous embroidered detailing around the jewel neckline.  I paired the dress with a pair of brown cork wedges and accessorized with a pair of white pearl Kendra Scott Danielle earrings, a matching Kendra Scott Elisa necklace, some beaded bracelets from Sashka Co., a MantraBand, my Giving Key bangle, a simple silver cross bracelet, a thin rose gold ring, and a gold Kate Spade watch.  Enjoy!

10 Bible Verses For a Bad Day Collab

Recently I found a unique, well-written blog called grad2grad.  Grad2grad (linked here) is run by two girls, Megan and Mairead, one postgrad and one undergrad.  These girls use their blog to share about their lives and experiences as Christians as well as inspirational quotes and messages.  I love this blog and when these girls reached out to me asking if I’d be interested in doing some type of post together I was super excited.  Today we’re sharing this little collaboration, “10 Bible Verses For a Bad Day.”  I often find myself forgetting that scripture is always there when I need a pick me up.  I think it’s so important to recognize that the Bible is here as a tool for us to use to learn about the life we were made to live and to get closer to the Lord.  I can’t wait to see what Megan and Mairead write!

Before I get into my selection of ten verses, Megan and Mairead have asked me to briefly introduce myself and talk about what following Jesus looks like in this stage of my life.  So, here goes!  My name is Faith, I’m a rising junior in high school and I currently live in South Carolina.  I was introduced to Christianity at a very young age, I was baptized in the Episcopal church before I could crawl.  My parents divorced when I was very young and because of that I now attend both Episcopal and Baptist churches.  While I’ve gone to church my whole life, I didn’t really take a huge interest in my faith until a few years ago.  Towards the end of middle school I became curious about some things surrounding Jesus and when I started my freshman year of high school I started going to YoungLife.  For me it has made all the difference in my spiritual life.  YoungLife has shown me that a life with Christ is a life of adventure.  Life with Christ means seeing the big, beautiful world that God created for our enjoyment, making great friends, doing things that make you happy, loving and serving others, and laughing at yourself.  The Bible isn’t a set of rules to follow “or else,” it’s a guide to living the joy filled life that Jesus died to give us.

I’ve divided the ten verses I’m sharing into a few categories.  Also, I know most of the Scripture is more than one verse, but I think all of these small chunks are significant and I definitely think there are days when I need to read them.

When you are doubting yourself, feel like giving up, or feel helpless:

Psalms 143 7:11; “Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails.  Don’t hide your face from me, or I will be like those going down to the Pit.  Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you.  Reveal to me the way I should go because I appeal to you.  Rescue me from my enemies, Lord; I come to you for protection.  Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.  May your gracious Spirit lead me on level ground.  For your name’s sake, Lordlet me live.  In your righteousness deliver me from trouble”

Matthew 17:20-21; “Because of your little faith,” He told them.  “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Romans 5:6; For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly.

When you’re feeling guilty about something:

1 John 1:9; If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Romans 5:1-2; Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.  We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

When you’re doubting God’s love, power, and faithfulness:

Romans 8:38-39; For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalms 34:4; I sought the Lord, and he answered me and rescued me from all my fears.

Psalms 40:1-2; I waited patiently for the Lordand he turned to me and heard my cry for help.  He brought me up from a desolate pit, out of the muddy clay, and set my feet on a rock, making my steps secure.

Psalms 27:10; Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord cares for me.

Matthew 19:26; Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Thank you so much for reading!  I hope you enjoyed this post and will keep these verses in mind next time you’re feeling down.  Don’t forget to check out grad2grad here and Megan and Mairead’s post here!  Have a wonderful day!

Derby-Inspired Outfit Collab

The day of the Derby is almost here!  While I have never attended the Derby, I’ve watched it on television a handful of times and have attended the Keeneland Races (a smaller horse racing event in Kentucky) a few times, so I feel like I get the gist.  One of my favorite things about what I’ve seen of the Derby and Keeneland is the attire.  Big hats, Lilly dresses, bow ties, and seersucker galore!  Today I’m collaborating with my friend Cayleigh from CNPrepster (linked here) to share a Derby-inspired look with you all.  Cayleigh’s blog is adorable and I always love reading her posts, be sure to check out her blog here and see her Derby-inspired outfit here!

For my Derby-inspired look, I paired my Lauren James scalloped light pink seersucker skirt with a simple white embroidered top, a statement necklace, my favorite gold jewelry, and gold Jack Rogers sandals.  I’m a sucker for all things scalloped and this skirt is no exception!  It easily matched this simple white top and the embroidery adds an elegant detail.  While at Keeneland last year I saw a ton of girls in their Jack Rogers so I thought they would be fitting for this look as well.  I think the statement necklace really ties the look together because the faux pink stones in it match the seersucker perfectly!  As for the rest of my jewelry, I’m wearing my Kendra Scott Danielle earrings in white pearl, my Kate Spade watch, and my favorite white and gold roll on beaded bracelets from Sashka Co. (who provides artisans in Nepal with full time jobs!).  Enjoy!

Vacay in Jadelynn Brooke Collab

On my recent trip to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas (read my “Atlantis Travel Diary” post and watch a video I made about the trip here), my go to cover up to walk to the beach or waterpark was a Jadelynn Brooke tee or tank with athletic shorts.  Today I’m sharing my favorite of these outfit combos in a collaboration with Avery of Pearls and Paddleboards (linked here)!  Avery is a fellow Jadelynn Brooke ambassador and a new friend of mine.  I love her blog and if you enjoy reading mine you should check hers out here!  She will be styling the same Jadelynn Brooke tank another way in her post, so be sure to read it here once you read mine!

I adore the color of this tank; the orange is bright and fun but also not obnoxiously neon, plus the tank is super soft.  It says “VACAY VACAY VACAY 2017” in white, pink, and mint with white polka dots, and I love the palm tree that extends from the white word!  I like to wear my shirts big, so you can hardly see my shorts in these pictures, but I’m wearing my favorite mint Jadelynn Brooke FIT shorts that match the mint font on the shirt perfectly!  You can score this tank and these shorts or any other Jadelynn Brooke products 15% off using my code “FLHS”, shop here!  I’m also wearing a few simple, casual bracelets, my Kendra Scott necklace, and my old pink chacos.  Enjoy!

3 Ways to Style Jadelynn Brooke Tees Collab

As I’m sure you’ve already gathered from my Instagram and various blog posts in the past six months or so, I am a high school ambassador for one of my favorite tee shirt brands, Jadelynn Brooke.  I absolutely love working for them, all of their products are adorable and the company is owned by a super sweet sister trio.  One of the things I have loved the most about being a Jadelynn Brooke high school ambassador is all of the friends from around the country I have made through the ambassador program.  Today I’m collaborating with four of them, Brooke of Live the Prep Life (linked here) and Avery, Mackenzie, and Gabrielle from Preppy Life Texas (blog linked here) to share three ways to style your Jadelynn Brooke tees!  Once you read my blog post, hop over to one of the other girls’ blogs to read their post and see their favorite way to style Jadelynn Brooke tees.  If you enjoy reading my blog I know you will love their blogs as well!  Read Brooke’s post here and Mackenzie, Avery, and Gabrielle’s post here.

My favorite way to style a Jadelynn Brooke tee is with jeans and sneakers such as my Converses or New Balances.  In this particular ensemble, I wore my white Converse.  Then I like to dress up the look a little with some fun jewelry such as my monogram necklace, Kendra Scott earrings, Sashka Co. bracelets, and Kate Spade watch.  The Jadelynn Brooke tee I chose to style says “Baseball is Love, Baseball is Life” and the sleeve reads “The Only Season that Matters,” how cute!  This tee, like most Jadelynn Brooke tees, features adorable little details like replacing the dots on the i’s with baseballs and the “o” in love with a heart.  I think this tee would be perfect for cheering on your favorite college team or even watching your little brother’s baseball game.  You can purchase this tee, or any of Jadelynn Brooke’s other adorable products, 15% off with my code “FLHS”!
