Valentine’s Day Lookbook 2017

With Valentine’s Day tomorrow, I know plenty of people are still scrambling to find the perfect outfit ensemble for their date or night out with friends.  Today I’m sharing a Valentine’s Day lookbook that will hopefully give you some outfit inspiration!  While I don’t have any date-related plans for the love filled holiday, I think Valentine’s Day should be a day spent celebrating with all of those whom you love, including your friends and family.  I love coming up with Valentine’s Day outfits because it’s the perfect excuse to wear a ton of pink, which, in case you couldn’t tell, is my favorite color.  Without further adieu, let’s get into the lookbook!

A Cardigan Over a Pink Tank

The first look is super simple and casual, great for school on Valentine’s Day or a casual date.  I love this fun, lacy, pink tank layered underneath a basic cardigan.  I finished off the look with my favorite jeans, a pair of nude flats, and some gold jewelry.  (Sorry the tank is so wrinkled, I was running out of daylight and didn’t have time to iron it!  You’ll probably notice that the scarf in the next look is wrinkled too and that’s for the same reason.)

A Pop of Pink in a Scarf

I purchased this adorable corduroy skirt from Banana Republic Factory in the fall and I’m obsessed with it.  In this outfit I styled it with a plain white sweater and a bright pink patterned scarf to add a pop of color (plus, what’s a Valentine’s Day outfit without some pink?)  I wore my new favorite booties (under $50!) and added some cute Kate Spade bow earrings and my gold monogram necklace to complete the look.  This look is a little less casual than the last and I could totally see myself wearing it out to dinner downtown with my friends.

A Polka-Dotted Skirt and A Pink Turtleneck

Pink and polka-dots  go together link peanut butter and jelly, so this outfit is easily my favorite in the lookbook!  I styled a basic hot pink turtleneck sweater with a black and white polka-dotted skirt and my favorite Kate Spade heels.  As for jewelry, I wore my pearl Danielle earrings from Kendra Scott, my Kate Spade watch, and some simple Bourbon and Boweties bangles.  This look is definitely the most formal of the three and I think it would be perfect for a date!

Holiday Lookbook 2016

I’m so happy to share the third post of my Christmas blog post series!  One of my favorite things about the holiday season is getting to dress up for parties and other special events throughout the month of December.  Today I’ve picked four of my favorite festive looks to inspire your holiday party attire!  These outfits are ordered from most casual first to most formal last.  Hopefully you can find some inspiration whether you’re looking for an outfit to wear to one of your friend’s casual White Elephant parties or your formal family get together on Christmas Eve.  If you haven’t already seen the last two posts from my Christmas blog series this year, be sure to check them out here!  Enjoy!

A Poncho With A Pop of Gingham

Perfect for a casual Christmas day lunch with your extended family, this outfit keeps you warm and fashionable.  This poncho feels like wearing a blanket and I love the way it looks over a patterned top like this gingham button down!  Complete the look with jeans and bean boots, riding boots, or booties for a simple, chic look fit for any casual holiday gathering.

A Tassel and A Piko

A simple and flattering piko top paired with a fun necklace makes for an easy yet adorable holiday outfit for a friend’s party or any other casual gathering.  I absolutely love this necklace from The Tiny Tassel; the fun multicolored metallic tassel is super festive!  Check out The Tiny Tassel here.  Wear this combo with jeans or leggings and booties or riding boots.

A Simple Dress, A Big Coat, and Over the Knee Boots

Big coats and over the knee boots are two of my favorite current trends!  Wear a nicer, slightly oversized coat over a simple dress and over the knee boots for a trendy outfit for a slightly more formal occasion such as a night downtown or a family dinner.  Add a simple yet fun necklace like this one from Starfish Project to spruce up the simple outfit.  I seriously love this necklace and the fact that Starfish Project supports women and girls escaping human trafficking and exploitation, what a great cause (read more of their story here!).  Check out Starfish Project’s website for more gorgeous jewelry here.

A Turtleneck and A Paper Bag Skirt

The final look I’m sharing is a simple and classic outfit I think would be perfect for a Christmas Eve church service or another formal gathering!  I paired a plain black turtleneck sweater with a paper bag skirt and some fun bow heels.  I love the little gold buttons on the sleeves of the sweater and I added a few other coordinating gold accent pieces including a monogram necklace, my watch, and a statement bracelet.

BTS Collab: Back To School Lookbook 2016

Today I have a few looks that follow most school dress codes for a back to school lookbook!  My favorite part of going back to school is coming up with some cute outfits composed of pieces I’ve picked up over the summer, so I love writing these posts!  This is actually the second back to school lookbook I’ve created, so be sure to check out last year’s (here) for more outfit inspiration!  This post is also my second back to school themed post this year, so if you didn’t see my last post, My Advice for High School Freshmen, you should definitely go check it out here.  Many of the tips apply to most middle and high school students, so you could probably get something out of it even if you aren’t a rising freshman.  On another note, this post is a back to school collaboration with a really sweet friend of mine I’ve met through blogging; Fiona of Preppy NYC!  Today Fiona is posting a backpack guide, so be sure to check her post out too, it’s linked here!  Without further adieu, let’s get into the lookbook!

Plain in Periwinkle

The first outfit is super simple and comfortable, plus this soft v-neck from Forever 21 is less than five dollars!  I dressed the tee up a bit with gold Jack Rogers sandals, my favorite Kendra Scott necklace, and a couple bracelets.  This outfit could easily transition into cooler weather by adding a cardigan and trading the sandals out for a pair of Converse.

Pink, White, and Gold

Light pink has to be one of my favorite colors and I love the way it looks on this top over the white jeans in this outfit!  I think this gorgeous necklace from Boho Belle Jewelry adds a bit of a boho vibe to the outfit and even though that’s a bit different for me I think it looks really nice.  I personally love the double wrap necklace trend and this necklace is definitely one of my favorites that I’ve seen so far.  Be sure to check out Boho Belle Jewelry here for more pretty, trendy jewelry!

White Embroidery and a Pop of Color

I’ve recently discovered I have a bit of a fetish for embroidered white tops, and this shirt definitely falls under that category.  I love the simplicity and versatility of the color white but also the cute details of the cutouts and embroidery!  I paired the white top with a pair of bright red jeans to add a pop of color along with a starfish bracelet with coordinating red beading.

Fall Lookbook 2015

To say that I’m excited about fall is an understatement.  I’ve been waiting all year to start layering my clothes, drinking hot chocolate, wearing my bean boots, and buying fall candles (come on, who doesn’t love a good cinnamon scented candle?).  Given my thrill at the start of the cooler weather, this blog post has been one of my absolute favorites to write and take pictures for.  It was so fun to put together a few of the fall outfits I’ve been so excited to share with you all!  I did my best to link similar pieces to the ones shown below, given that a lot of them are from local boutiques and places like Marshalls.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it and you get some fall outfit inspiration!

A Blanket Scarf and Bean Boots

This outfit will probably be on repeat throughout the season, I just think it’s so perfect for fall!  The colors in the scarf are so festive and this shirt is super soft.

A Simple Tunic

I’ll be honest, when I first saw this top in Marshalls, I made fun of it.  On the hanger, it looked more like a towel than a tunic.  After taking another look at it, I decided to try it on and I fell in love with it.  It’s honestly one of the most comfortable things I’ve ever worn and I think it looks adorable with some leggings, bean boots, and simple jewelry.

Gingham and A Vest

This outfit pretty much follows the lines of the basic preppy fall outfit, but I still think it’s just so perfect to throw on for school, a football game, or anything else.  It’s so versatile, you could create a totally different look by changing the flannel, vest, or shoes!

Army Tones

I have to say, this is my favorite outfit in this post.  Recently I’ve found myself absolutely loving the darker, fall-ish tones like army green, light brown, and maroon.  I know I’ve said this in just about every outfit description, but yet again, this shirt is so soft!  And can we just take a minute to talk about this jacket?  It goes with everything, and the best part?  It’s not the J.Crew one, I found it at a boutique with my mom for just $36 (I linked the boutique so you can check it out, they have a lot of other really cute pieces.)

Back To School Lookbook 2015

It’s time to walk your school schedule, go to office supply stores to pick up notebooks and number two pencils, start waking up early, and buy some better fitting jeans.  Yep, it’s almost time to go back to school, and today I have four outfit ideas to help relieve the pressure to find the perfect first day of school outfit that we all feel deep down.  I love all of these outfits and I think they would be perfect for making a good first impression on your new teachers and classmates.  Plus, I’ve gathered some of my favorite accessories at the end for those of you who have to wear a uniform to school!  So, let’s get started!

Sassy in Seersucker

If you’re looking for a classic prep look, this is the one for you.  I absolutely adore this skirt, it’s seersucker and scalloped (insert heart eye emoji here.)  Paired with a nice oxford, you’ll give off a classy and sweet vibe to everyone you greet.

Lilly On White

I think that we all have one particular favorite Lilly Pulitzer item by the end of the summer, so why not bring it into the school year?  I’ve been loving this Elsa lately and I think the fun colors are bound to brighten any dreary school day.  You can make just about any Lilly piece casual enough for school by pairing it with a basic solid like white jeans or a plain tee.

top (different print) // white jeans // sandals // watch (similar) // monogram necklace // gold bangle (similar) // pink crystal bangle

Sweater Weather

Even though it’s not quite time for cable knits and vests, there’s no reason you couldn’t wear a light sweater like this one on a cool day.  You can dress up sweaters easily by adding nice accessories like this precious tortoise bow headband from See Blair.

sweater // jeans // sandals // headband // monogram necklace // watch (similar)

Blair Waldorf-ish

This look was inspired by none other than Queen B herself.  A simple but fancy white oxford paired with some light-wash jeans and nice flats seem a lot like something Blair might wear to school in the Upper East Side if it weren’t for her uniform.  Of course, it wouldn’t be a Blair Waldorf-inspired outfit without a nice headband, and this hot pink “Blair Goes To The Beach” headband from Bows & Kites is sure to do the trick.

Accessorizing A Uniform

As you can probably tell based on the fact that I have a fashion blog, I love clothes.  I love having the freedom to wear whatever pretty much I want to school and quite honestly I would hate wearing a uniform.  If I did go to a school that required me to wear a uniform, I would cope with some fun accessories!  Below I’ve linked a few I think you might like.  Click on the product image to shop!
