Outfits of the Week: Final Days of Summer and First Days of School 2017

Throughout this past week, I enjoyed my final days of summer and began my junior year of high school.  I rarely share “Outfits of the Week” posts due to my busy academic and extracurricular schedule, so I thought this week would be perfect given my lack of extensive after-school commitment in the beginning of the year.  You can read my last two “Outfits of the Week” posts here!  I’m so excited to share these outfits with you because I absolutely love everything about each and every one of them!  Let’s get on with it, shall we?

I planned on spending Monday selling yearbook ads and walking new class schedules with a friend I’m on the yearbook staff with, but after a couple denied ads we drove to the school and were told that there was a big county meeting going on so we couldn’t come in.  Point being, this was the outfit I planned on wearing to sell ads and meet my new teachers for the first time.  I absolutely adore this embroidered white top from LOFT that was handed down to me from my stepmother early in the summer.  I styled it with a pair of pixie cut jeans and gold Jack Rogers sandals for a simple, put together look.  I kept the jewelry to simple white and gold pieces including a fun gold double wrap (I keep getting questions about where this necklace is from but it was actually a hand me down from a family friend!), Kendra Scott Danielle earrings, my gold Kate Spade watch, a couple Sashka Co. bracelets, a gold MantraBand, a silver Giving Key bangle, and an adorable cuff bangle from Cuffed by Nano that says “eat pray hustle.”  Cuffed by Nano sells a ton of adorable cuffs, rings, necklaces, and chokers in silver, rose gold, and gold and she even offers customization!  Check out Cuffed by Nano’s online store here.

I went to work at 10:00 a.m. then went to the school to finally successfully walk my schedule at 1:30 p.m.  I wore this simple, comfortable yet cute outfit both to work and to the school to meet my new teachers and get an idea of my path for the school days to come.  I love this top because it looks cute and effortless and it’s so soft.  I paired it with the same style of pixie cut jeans from Monday’s outfit and a pair of brown lace up sandals.  I wore the cutest black choker with a gold crescent charm from KEJBeads along with my Kendra Scott Danielle earrings and some white and gold bracelets to top off the otherwise simple look.

My last day of summer, I spent the morning prewriting blog posts then I went into work around 1:00 p.m.  I purchased this top at Old Navy a couple years ago but I still wear it because it’s super soft and I adore the embroidery and tassel details!  I paired it with some pixie cut jeans and Jack Rogers for an easy look.  I wore some simple white and gold jewelry to top off the outfit.  I love layering my Kendra Scott necklace with this silver and gold cross pendant necklace, but it was passed down to me and sadly I couldn’t find it online.

Thursday was my first day of school, so I obviously put a lot of thought into this outfit. I wanted it to be something different that no one else would have but also something simple and easily likable.  I purchased this blue poncho-style top at a boutique in Rockport, TX with the first day of school in mind and it was perfect!  I love how soft it is and I think the way it drapes is so pretty.  I dressed it up a bit with a pair of white jeans (my go-to for the first day of school!) and gold Jack Rogers.  As for jewelry, I wore rose quartz Kendra Scott Danielle earrings, the gold double wrap necklace I wore Monday, my gold Kate Spade watch, and a simple stack of blush pink, white, and gold bracelets.

It’s no secret I love a good ruffle, and sleeve ruffles are no exception!  I bought this top at Zara for under $13.00 (not even on sale!) while shopping in Texas and I absolutely adore it.  I was unable to find it online so I linked a couple similar tops below, however the shirt wasn’t even on sale when I purchased it under a month ago, so I’d be surprised if it wasn’t still in stores!  I wore the top with a pair of dark wash jeans rolled up and some gold Jack Rogers sandals.  I wanted to add a pop of blue, so I wore this beautiful double wrap lariat necklace from DesignsbyShelbs.  Be sure to check out DesignsbyShelbs here for more unique jewelry and get 15% off any $15+ purchase using my code “FAITH15”!  The rest of my jewelry consists of pretty much the same basic pieces I’d been wearing all week.

Outfits of the Week: January 9th -13th

Today I’m excited to finally have a second “Outfits of the Week” post up!  Honestly, the lack of “Outfits of the Week” posts hasn’t been due to my not wanting to do them, but due to the fact that I’ve had offseason lacrosse practices right after school (when I usually take outfit of the day pictures) a couple times a week since September.  This week has actually been a week that we aren’t allowed to practice due to school rules and one of the last two until the official lacrosse season starts (when I’ll have mandatory practice every day after school), so I thought it would be the perfect time to do an “Outfits of the Week” post.  If you like this post, be sure to check out my “Outfits of the Week” post from my first week of school, linked here.  Now, enough of the rambling, let’s get into the post!

Since the snow from Friday night left the roads icy, my school had a snow day!  I used the snow day to catch up on assignments, study ahead for tests/quizzes, and prewrite some blog posts.  Given that I didn’t leave my house, I just wore leggings and my new sweatshirt from United.  This sweatshirt is so soft and comfy (it’s printed on a Comfort Colors sweatshirt) so it was perfect for loungewear but I also think the simple crest makes it great for a casual outfit!

To my surprise, what was originally a two-hour delay on Tuesday turned into another snow day!  With all of my homework already done, I spent the morning working on more blog posts until one of my friends called me around 1:00 p.m. and asked me if I wanted to drive to Clemson with her to greet the players returning from the National Championship (Clemson is about an hour and a half away from where I live).  I obviously jumped on the opportunity and went with her.  We had a ton of fun meeting players and congratulating them.  For the event I wore a long sleeve Comfort Colors Clemson tee shirt under a heather grey vest with leggings and L.L. Bean boots.  I completely forgot to take an outfit picture, but I’ve included a picture where you can see most of the top of my outfit as well as one of my favorite pictures I took while in Clemson before the players arrived!

Wednesday I finally had another regular day of school (sigh).  I wore a pink textured sweater under a heather grey vest (yes, the same one from Tuesday) with jeans, white converses and some simple jewelry.  I love this LOFT sweater, but after searching I found that it’s no longer available on their website, so I linked a couple other cute textured sweaters I found while looking!  In case you’re wondering, the bracelet I’m wearing isn’t my house key, it’s a Giving Key.  My friend, Maddie, gave it to me for Christmas and I’m obsessed with it!  I’ve been talking to her about how much I love The Giving Keys for forever and the one she gave me says “inspire.”  One of the things I love about The Giving Keys is that they employ people transitioning out of homelessness.  Read about The Giving Keys’ impact here!

Thursday’s outfit was a little more on the trendy side.  I wore an army green piko top with a sparkly double wrap necklace from ShopNell, a few bracelets including my new leather wrap bracelet from 212 West, jeans, and fringe booties.  I have been loving the double wrap necklace trend and this one has to be my favorite that I own!  Check out ShopNell’s Etsy page for more trendy jewelry here.  I already talked a ton about my Giving Key bracelet in my Wednesday outfit description, so onto this adorable leather wrap bracelet!  This bracelet is a new product from 212 West, which is a jewelry company that sells adorable necklaces and bracelets with customizable charm messages.  They have a ton of options so you can piece together your own motivational mantra, spiritual reminder, etc. in whatever metal color you want!  The charms on my bracelet are linked below and 212 West’s website is linked here.

Friday’s outfit was an easy go-to; a white sweater, jeans, and bean boots.  To dress the look up a bit I added this adorable necklace from The Tiny Tassel!  I love the fun colors in the tassel and think it adds a fun detail to any outfit.  This simple white sweater is super comfy and versatile, making it a huge cold weather staple of mine!  See it featured in another post here.

Outfits of the Week: First Week of School

This week was my first week back to school, and as bittersweet as it was for summer to end, it was nice to see my friends and establish a regular daily routine again.  This week I photographed my outfits every day after school so I could put together my first ever Outfits of the Week post!  This will be the last post in my Back to School series this year, so be sure to check out my others here if you missed any.  Now let’s get into today’s post!

This was my first day of school outfit.  I obviously put a lot of thought into this one and I love how it turned out!  This maroon peplum from LOFT is made with a light sweater-type fabric in the top and a sheer material in the peplum at the bottom.  For some reason it isn’t online, but I linked a couple other cute maroon tops from LOFT below.  I’m obsessed with this Elliotborough tassel bracelet from The Tiny Tassel!  The tassel itself is adorable plus it’s accented with the cutest little porcelain bead.  You can get the same bracelet or any of the other adorable pieces from The Tiny Tassel here 15% off with my code “prep15”!  Also, I wore my favorite Jack Rogers sandals in this outfit, sorry they didn’t make the picture!

This top is so comfortable, and I love the white collar!  You can’t tell in this picture but the top is also an inch or two longer in the back.  Sadly I was unable to link the top, stone necklace, and earrings in this outfit because they were all from boutiques!  However, I did link these adorable sandals from Target that are less than $20!  I’ve had these sandals since spring break and I’ve found them to be great quality plus they’re a super affordable way to hop on the lace-up sandal trend!

On Wednesday I wore this adorable embroidered navy racerback tank with a bralette, jeans, simple jewelry, and my Jack Rogers sandals.  I personally love the bralette trend!  Bralettes are super soft and I think the lace is a classy alternative to bra straps peaking out of your shirt.

This top is seriously one of my all time favorites.  It has the comfort of a plain tee with the cutest hemline!  I love how it looks with jeans, cute jewelry, and fun sandals.  Also, it was originally $104 (ouch) but I got it for less than $30 while I was in Texas over the summer, and you can too!  I linked it on the Neiman Marcus Last Call site below so you can get the same deal I did.

Honestly, on Friday I wore a big Life is Good tee shirt with jeans and my Chacos, and I had a doctors appointment right after school so I completely forgot to take pictures.  However, Friday night we had our first high school football game of the year and it was America themed!  I did take some pictures with my friends there, so I added the pictures you could see my outfit best in.  I wore one of my favorite patriotic Jadelynn Brooke tees with some stars and stripes shorts from Lauren James (I know you can’t see them, but they’re super cute for anything America themed so I linked them below anyways!)
