White & Gold

I love the simplicity in the color white and I adore the class that a touch of gold adds to anything.  That being said, any piece featuring this color combination is almost guaranteed to make me swoon.  The silky white button down top featured in today’s post is dotted with little imperfect flecks of gold and the sleeves are ruffled at the hem, how perfect is that?  Today I’ve styled this top with jeans, brown suede booties, gold jewelry, and a teal Kate Spade purse for a pop of color.  Enjoy!

An Outfit for Warmer Winter Days

Recently, the weather here in South Carolina has been crazy.  One day it’s warm enough to wear shorts and the next you need a scarf and coat.  Some days I’ll get in the car in the morning shivering with a thick jacket on and go to lacrosse practice in the afternoon wearing nothing but Nike shorts and a sports bra under my pinnie.  I find days like these super hard to dress for, not only because the temperature change throughout the day is so drastic, but because I would feel so awkward pulling out spring items like my sandals so early in the year.

My favorite outfit solution to this weather dilemma is a cute tank under a light cardigan with rolled up jeans and booties.  This outfit keeps me warm for the few minutes I spend outside while walking into school in the mornings, but also isn’t unbearably warm when I leave for lacrosse practice in the afternoons (plus, you can always just take off the cardigan).  The tank and sweater in this particular outfit are actually from Marshalls, so both of the links at the end of the posts are for similar items.  However, this outfit concept is super basic and you could recreate it with any tank and cardigan you’d like!  I have to say, I would definitely recommend checking your local Marshalls for cardigans.  I’ve purchased a few there and all of my friends buy theirs there as well because they always have cute ones in stock and they’re typically pretty inexpensive.  I added a few of my recent favorite jewelry items to this particular outfit.  I’ve been obsessed with these druzy rose gold studs from Noelle Taylor Jewelry lately, they’re gorgeous and really inexpensive (only $6, what a steal!).  I also love wearing my white and gold glass beaded bracelet from Sashka Co., it’s super cute and so versatile because of the simple colors.  Plus, purchasing Sashka Co. bracelets help to provide full time jobs for the artisans in Nepal who make them.  Be sure to check out both of these jewelry brands here and here!  The rest of my jewelry is basic; a freshwater pearl necklace, my Giving Key bangle, a simple thin rose gold ring, and of course my Kate Spade watch.

A Simple Grey Turtleneck

I absolutely love my white and gold New Balance sneakers.  One of my favorite things to do with them is challenge myself by styling them in different ways aside from the basic leggings-and-tee shirt kind of deal.  I love this outfit that I recently came up with, I think it’s so simple yet chic.  This grey turtleneck has easily become a go to top for me lately; it’s super soft and the material is thin enough to keep me cool on these weirdly warm winter days, not to mention grey is super versatile.  See this turtleneck styled with a skirt in another post here!  I wore the turtleneck with my favorite pair of skinny jeans rolled up at the ankles.  I topped the look off with some simple jewelry and I carried my Kate Spade wallet that day to keep a little cash and my phone in.  Enjoy!

3 Ways to Style Jadelynn Brooke Tees Collab

As I’m sure you’ve already gathered from my Instagram and various blog posts in the past six months or so, I am a high school ambassador for one of my favorite tee shirt brands, Jadelynn Brooke.  I absolutely love working for them, all of their products are adorable and the company is owned by a super sweet sister trio.  One of the things I have loved the most about being a Jadelynn Brooke high school ambassador is all of the friends from around the country I have made through the ambassador program.  Today I’m collaborating with four of them, Brooke of Live the Prep Life (linked here) and Avery, Mackenzie, and Gabrielle from Preppy Life Texas (blog linked here) to share three ways to style your Jadelynn Brooke tees!  Once you read my blog post, hop over to one of the other girls’ blogs to read their post and see their favorite way to style Jadelynn Brooke tees.  If you enjoy reading my blog I know you will love their blogs as well!  Read Brooke’s post here and Mackenzie, Avery, and Gabrielle’s post here.

My favorite way to style a Jadelynn Brooke tee is with jeans and sneakers such as my Converses or New Balances.  In this particular ensemble, I wore my white Converse.  Then I like to dress up the look a little with some fun jewelry such as my monogram necklace, Kendra Scott earrings, Sashka Co. bracelets, and Kate Spade watch.  The Jadelynn Brooke tee I chose to style says “Baseball is Love, Baseball is Life” and the sleeve reads “The Only Season that Matters,” how cute!  This tee, like most Jadelynn Brooke tees, features adorable little details like replacing the dots on the i’s with baseballs and the “o” in love with a heart.  I think this tee would be perfect for cheering on your favorite college team or even watching your little brother’s baseball game.  You can purchase this tee, or any of Jadelynn Brooke’s other adorable products, 15% off with my code “FLHS”!

A Fluffy Vest in a Field

I recently took a little day trip to what’s left of an old mill with a couple of my closest friends.  This site is well known where I live as the perfect place to take pictures; it has a dam with a river, a ton of old rustic buildings, and gorgeous fields like the one you’re about to see.  We had a great day there and of course took a ton of pictures!  My friends are the sweetest and I’m so thankful they were willing to take some pictures for me so I could write a post about it!  I wore a plain pink piko top with a white faux fur vest (I actually borrowed it from one of the friends I went with haha,) some simple jewelry, jeans, and my over the knee boots.  I have been super hesitant to style these over the knee boots with jeans, but on this day I just decided to go for it.  I love the way these pictures turned out; the sunlight was pouring into the field and gives the photos a more washed out look.  I included a few photos I took with my friends as well!  Enjoy!

A Skirt on Sunday

As I’ve mentioned many times in various places including my “Meet Faith” page, in my “Scripture Sunday” posts, and on my Instagram, I’m a Christian and I attend church every Sunday.  I would consider the church I go to be fairly formal, so I always dress up in my “Sunday best” for the Eucharist.  One of my go-to pieces when I’m trying to put together a church outfit quickly is a J.Crew paper bag skirt.  They’re so versatile, the outfit possibilities are practically endless.  In today’s outfit I styled an olive colored paper bag skirt with a chambray button down, a navy vest, and leopard print flats for a fun, classy winter look.  Enjoy!
