May Playlist 2018

If you ask me, music is seasonal.  I don’t just mean Christmas music and songs that literally talk about summer, I mean the sound.  Y’all know I love electronic and alternative music, but I often lean towards more electronic and pop during the spring and summer, as the upbeat sounds set the tone for the exciting activities of spring and warm summer days.  As we make the transition into spring (I know it’s already mid-spring but the weather here’s just now starting to feel like we’re exiting winter!), I think this playlist reflects that mood change pretty well!  Slower alternative numbers like “White Lie” and “Gale Song” by The Lumineers reflect the darkness and long days of winter and recent upbeat favorites of mine like “Boy” by ODESZA (by the way it doesn’t have words but I swear the sounds are just so pretty!) and “Say My Name” by Tove Styrke excite me for the warm months ahead!  Other than those that I already mentioned, “One Day At A Time” and “Ultralife” are standout songs on my personal charts for this month.  Enjoy!

March Playlist 2018

Playlists are better late than never right?  I’ve been trying to get my playlists up earlier in the month recently but I just couldn’t compile worthy songs that quickly!  That being said, I think these are definitely worth the wait.  My favorites this month have to be “Irreplaceable” by Beyoncé (I know it’s so old but it’s also so good!), “Champagne Clouds” by Malia Civetz, DJDS and Empress Of’s rendition of Lana Del Rey’s “Love,” and Kasbo’s remix of “The Little Things” by the Big Gigantic.  I’ve loved listening to these songs in my car with the windows down lately.  Enjoy!

February Playlist 2018

As you must know by now, playlists are some of my absolute favorite posts to share with y’all.  I think music has this crazy way of connecting people and I love giving y’all the feeling that you know me better.  Over the past month my music taste has been all over the place.  I, along with every teenage girl in America I’m sure, have been obsessed with Drake’s new song “God’s Plan,” specifically the line “I only love my bed and my momma I’m sorry.”  After purchasing Khalid’s album American Teen on vinyl, I discovered some of his more overlooked songs, specifically “Hopeless,” and I’ve been listening to that record on repeat.  “By Your Side” by Jonas Blue with RAYE has such a happy beat and I just can’t get enough of it!  It’s rare that I really love a Christian song enough to listen to it on the daily, but Kari Jobe’s revisited version of “Hands to the Heavens” has such a beautiful sound that I listen to it constantly.  Okay, okay, I’ll stop ranting about the songs and let you listen for yourself!  Enjoy!

January Playlist 2018

Ah the playlist, one of my favorite posts each month!  Today’s playlist is my first of 2018, so I made sure to make it count.  A few of my absolute favorites that I can’t recommend enough are “Life” (so good, seriously so relatable and inspiring), “Exchange” (which I can’t believe it took me two years to come across), and “Someone That You Love.”  I’m also currently experiencing a major obsession with Khalid, as you’ll see his name makes several appearances in the playlist.  I hope y’all love this playlist as much as I do!  Enjoy!

December Playlist 2017

I can’t believe how close we’re getting to Christmas!  With school, extracurriculars, and work I’ve found it so hard to sit down and write posts for my Christmas series this year, but I’m trying to cram a few more posts in during these last days! Today’s Christmas-themed post is my December playlist.  Personally, as much as I love the Christmas season and its candles-and-twinkle-lights ambiance, I have a hard time listening to Christmas music on repeat all month (I know, I know, super unpopular opinion these days).  However, I’ve recently come across a few Christmas tunes that sound enough like things I typically listen to that I actually want to listen to them.  This year I’ve been listening to Cappa’s rendition of “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (it’s so good you won’t believe it), “Christmas This Year” by Tobymac featuring Leigh Nash, Snoop Dogg and Anna Kendrick’s “Winter Wonderland / Here Comes Santa Claus” compilation from Pitch Perfect 2, and Taylor Swift’s 2007 take on “Last Christmas.”  This playlist is also filled with plenty of non-seasonal songs that I’ve been loving recently, especially “Mine” by Bazzi, “Remember That Night (SAINT WKND Remix)” by Grouplove, and “Both Of Us” by Yellow Claw featuring STORi.  I hope you love these songs as much as I do!  Enjoy!

November Playlist 2017

I have to admit, I’ve hardly listened to anything besides the new Taylor Swift album, reputation (which I totally recommend buying by the way, read my whole post about the album here), recently, but I’m sharing my monthly playlist anyways!  Aside from my beloved Taylor Swift songs, this month I’ve really loved listening to Post Malone’s new song, “Candy Paint” as well as Dillon Francis’ remix of Halsey’s “Bad At Love” and Russ’ “Losin Control” (especially after hearing it live at Music Midtown).  The rest of my favorite jams from this month are linked in the playlist below.  Enjoy!
