September Playlist 2018

I’m not going to lie, most of this past month I’ve been listening to a mix of various Taylor Swift songs and worship music.  I haven’t been able to let “O Come to the Altar” and “Reckless Love” from last month’s playlist slip my daily life, and after seeing Taylor Swift in concert for the fourth time I’m in awe of each masterpiece of a song all over again.  That said, I’ve recently become a lot more open to actually listening to the songs people recommend via their Instagram stories (because I have to find new music to share with y’all somewhere!).  Boy do I recommend doing this – worst-case scenario you hate the song twenty seconds in and you turn it off, best case scenario it’s your new favorite!  My absolute favorites from this playlist are “Beige” (which I swear is a lot better than the name would suggest), “Sleeping With Roses,” and Taylor Swift’s Fearless Platinum Edition bonus song, “SuperStar.”  Enjoy!

August Playlist 2018

After a month of listening only to what our Work Crew bosses chose to play in the dining hall and laundry room and the worship music we sang in Work Crew meetings and club, I somehow haven’t been able to listen to much of anything else.  You’ll notice this month’s playlist has a much greater saturation of worship music than my typical playlist, but I promise each worship song I added is really that good, especially considering the fact that I’m usually not one to listen to a lot of worship music on my own.  My absolute favorites from this playlist are “Come Thou Fount,” “High Tops,” “Testify,” and LANY’s newest release that I missed while I was away, “Thru These Tears.”  Enjoy!

July Playlist 2018

Another month means another playlist!  Today I’m so excited to be sharing some of my favorite songs so far this summer!  These songs are all so great for different reasons; some have an awesome beat, some are super happy, and some are just super relatable.  My definite favorites from this playlist have to be Chelsea Cutler’s recent single “Someone Else,” “Back to You” by Selena Gomez, and “My Boy” by Billie Eilish.  I hope you love these songs as much as I do!  Enjoy!

June Playlist 2018

You know by now that playlists are some of my absolute favorite posts to share, even if they don’t rack in the most views or likes.  I consider music to be such a large part of my life that sharing it with you feels almost as if we’re bonding.  Even though I can drive now, one of my best friends, Cammie, often still drives me places we’re both going (hello carbon footprint reduction!) and she gets just as excited as I do when I grab the aux cord because we love getting new music from each other, I’d even say it brings us closer as friends.  So today I’m reaching for your aux cord yet again and showing you fifteen of my favorite songs for this month.  Some standouts that I’d likely play back to back without ever allowing a song to play all the way through because I’m so excited about the next include “Better Not” by Louis the Child, “My My My!” by Troye Sivan, and “On the Low” by Tove Styrke.  I’ve also been especially into Judah and the Lion since I saw them in concert on May 25th, my favorites being “Green Eyes” and “Forever, Always.”  I hope you love these songs as much as I do!  Enjoy!

May Playlist 2018

If you ask me, music is seasonal.  I don’t just mean Christmas music and songs that literally talk about summer, I mean the sound.  Y’all know I love electronic and alternative music, but I often lean towards more electronic and pop during the spring and summer, as the upbeat sounds set the tone for the exciting activities of spring and warm summer days.  As we make the transition into spring (I know it’s already mid-spring but the weather here’s just now starting to feel like we’re exiting winter!), I think this playlist reflects that mood change pretty well!  Slower alternative numbers like “White Lie” and “Gale Song” by The Lumineers reflect the darkness and long days of winter and recent upbeat favorites of mine like “Boy” by ODESZA (by the way it doesn’t have words but I swear the sounds are just so pretty!) and “Say My Name” by Tove Styrke excite me for the warm months ahead!  Other than those that I already mentioned, “One Day At A Time” and “Ultralife” are standout songs on my personal charts for this month.  Enjoy!

March Playlist 2018

Playlists are better late than never right?  I’ve been trying to get my playlists up earlier in the month recently but I just couldn’t compile worthy songs that quickly!  That being said, I think these are definitely worth the wait.  My favorites this month have to be “Irreplaceable” by Beyoncé (I know it’s so old but it’s also so good!), “Champagne Clouds” by Malia Civetz, DJDS and Empress Of’s rendition of Lana Del Rey’s “Love,” and Kasbo’s remix of “The Little Things” by the Big Gigantic.  I’ve loved listening to these songs in my car with the windows down lately.  Enjoy!
